Today on the ShelfishlyAddicted blog, I am honored to have Fauzia Burke of FSB Associates as my guest. FSB Associates is an online publicity and marketing firm that helps authors gain awareness of their books. Fauzia is here today for a special Q&A on ARCs - or Advanced Reading Copies, as they are formally known.

In the world of book blogging and reviewing, ARCs are highly coveted. If you look on Twitter or Instagram, you'll see countless posts on and photos of the most-anticipated boo...

Of all the social media outlets that exist, I am most active on Instagram. While I love Facebook, my use is mostly personal, though I do have a Facebook for the ShelfishlyAddicted blog. I used to be very active on Twitter, back when my blog was running under BlookGirl, but Twitter is too fluid for me. On Instagram, not only can you stalk someone's beautiful photography feed, but there are also SO MANY wonderful book-loving people on Instagram!  One such person is Sumaiyya Naseem of Sumaiyya.Book...

One thing I love about Instagram is how it offers people with the same passions and interests the ability to connect - whether it's through hashtags or a friend of a friend (of a friend of a...). Today, for #ShelfieSunday, you will meet one such kindred spirit of mine, Faroukh Naseem, who goes by @theguywiththebook on Instagram. I don't quite remember how I "found" Faroukh, but when I did stumble onto his feed, filled with eye-candy of books and bookish scenes, I was hooked! Then, I discovered t...

Welcome to #ShelfieSunday, dear reader! Today, you're going to meet a fabulous book lover named Nadira. She has a beautiful Instagram feed (@nadirasworld), where she posts colorful, artistically-structured photos of her favorite books and bookish accessories. Nadira hails from the United Arab Emirates, so her Instagram feed also features  unique cultural reads that you may not have heard of otherwise. I've added quite a few books to my never-ending wish list, thanks to her!

New to the ShelfishlyAddicted Book Blog, #ShelfieSunday is a fun Sunday morning feature where you will be introduced to a fellow book lover. These posts will feature a brief bio, some Q&A about bookish things, and best of all, pictures of the featured book lover's home library or favorite book shelf.

While I find people in general to be endlessly fascinating, I am not always interested in seeing selfie after selfie on social media. I want to know what makes you click! I want t...

Live from my reading chair: June's To-Be-Read (TBR) Pile!

Happy June, dear readers! Texas has had some crazy weather so far this year. As I type this, instead of being sunny and hot, as it normally is this time of year, it's stormy and humid. While I sure do miss the sunshine, and wish I could be water tubing in New Braunfels, gloomy weather always seems like perfect reading weather, doesn't it? And boy, do I have some good books to read this month!

First up...

Twilight, the first book in the famous Twilight series by Stephanie Meyer, was published in 2005. It swept the bookish world by storm, as I remember, and even ladies in their late 20s were swooning over Bella, Edward, and Jacob. As I usually do with hyped books, I avoided Twilight like the plague, gently scoffing at those who were so obsessed with the series. Though I was around  nineteen and twenty years old at the time, I had long been out of the habit of reading books for young readers. "Real...

That's right, dear readers! Stacee of Adventures of a Book Junkie and I have dreamt up a new blog feature that is:

1. Fun!

2. Low pressure.

3. Did we mention fun?!

Exactly 1 week ago, I was Insta-stalking my favorite bookish accounts on Instagram and stumbled upon a post by Stacee that featured two of my favorite books: If I Stay and Where She Went by Gayle Forman. I made a fangirl comment on her photo, after which we fell into a conversation about wanting to re-read some of our old favorite books...
